WEST ELMBRIDGE IN-PATIENT
ADVOCACY SERVICES
Mental Health Advocacy:
The
service provides one to one advocacy which is free, independent,
confidential and led by the client/patient. The advocate works on the
hospital site and visits Clare Ward regularly.
The
service provides advocacy to people who are patients on Clare Ward,
which serves the West Elmbridge
area at the Abraham Cowley Unit at St. Peters Hospital.

Support at ward rounds

Complaints
about care

Information
about medication

Help
with access to records

Support
with benefits

Information and support with housing issues
The advocate can
help with many other issues as well. Please speak to them to see if they
can provide the help you want.
Availability
Normally
the advocate is available during normal office hours on Thursday and
Friday each week.
In
an emergency an advocate may also be available on Monday to Wednesday.

and posters are on each ward explaining the service and giving contact
numbers.

The
advocate visits the wards regularly and has an office in St. Francis
House which is on the St. Peters Hospital site a few minutes walk from
the wards at the Abraham Cowley Unit.
