Willow Ward -
Woking Community Hospital
Willow
ward is a 17 bedded ward for people over the age of 65 from the Woking
area.
The
ward provides continuing care for 15 patients with known organic mental
health problems who are over 65 years age. There are two beds for
respite care.
Nursing
staff provided cover on the ward 24 hours a day. A GP visits three
times a week. In addition there are Occupational therapists, social
workers and a consultant can be contacted for reviews in the patients
care plan.

Visiting
times : Monday
to Friday from 2 – 8 pm. Saturday and Sundays 10-8pm.
If
children wish to visit the ward with a responsible adult, please check
with the ward staff.
A
copy of the ward policy may be viewed at any time.
Medication
Is
usually
given at 8am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm and 10pm.
Ward Rounds
This
is a weekly meeting where staff involved in the patients care are
present. Patients families and friends may attend these rounds. Ask
the nursing staff to let you know of the day and time.
Smoking
is not permitted anywhere on the ward. There is a garden attached to
the ward where may enjoy a smoke.
Food
Breakfast
is served from 8am, lunch from 12 and dinner from 5pm
Hot
and cold drinks are available during the day – please ask a member of
staff.
Special Needs
If
a patient has special needs such as diet, interpreting, hearing, visual,
physical or other, please speak to the nursing staff.
Religious &
Spiritual Needs
A
chaplain visits the ward every Friday, and every on the last Friday in
the month Woking Christ Church come to say prayers and sing hymns.
Shop
There
is a small league of friends shop situated within the Community Hospital
and a dining room on the main corridor outside the ward entrance.
Laundry
Patient's
clothes are washed and dried on the ward. It is a good idea to have all
clothes named for easy identification.
