Service development

As well as providing a range of specialist advocacy services for different client groups, Matrix has also developed and facilitated a number of service user involvement projects with people who experience mental health and/or learning disabilities.

One of these, based in Hampshire, was specifically for people with severe and enduring mental health problems. Although initially developed and facilitated by Matrix over a period of three years, it quickly matured and became a social firm, and is now operating as a completely independent and user-run mental health based training programme: Raise Mental Health Ltd (formerly Cerberus Associates)

From April 2009 Matrix will also be providing a Paid Representative Service for the six unitary authorities of Berkshire, for those people subject to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards with no one available or willing to take the representative role.

One of the strengths of Matrix is the diverse backgrounds of our team, which include prior experience in many areas of service delivery, from Social Work to Employment Training and career Guidance programmes. Many of our team also work for our sister organisation, Matrix Training Associates, and so have considerable experience of designing and providing training courses to a variety of professionals and client groups.
